The Sakura Sunday Cherry bloom festival

My little sister is very much into the Japanese culture. I went with her to the Sakura Sunday Cherry bloom festival. To me each photo resembles the same positivity, diligences and regrowth that the event exuded. The performances were truly inspirational. The Salme girls came straight from Tokyo strutting in their go-go boots and put on an amazing show of pride. Support Japan if you can.

Pop your Color

As you can see in Kate Moss's new editorial for Vogue Brazil, bright matte lips are all the rage! Give it a try...if this look is too bold for you use a vivid unusual shade of lip gloss for a subtle pop of color.

The Difference Between Glitter and Shimmer

Glitter becomes a shimmer as the particle size decreases. Both are used in cosmetics to give a radiant glow and sparkle. The youthful grow of a well place glitter can look amazing if the right particle size is applied. The most commonly used particle sizes in cosmetics are 0.002 0.004 0.006 and 0.008

Each glitter particle size captures a different amount of light, the smaller the particle size the more it will defuse the light and conceal imperfections. The larger the glitter particle size the more it will emphasize those imperfections. I use larger glitter in my lip glosses by combining them with smaller sized particles like 0.002 and 0.004. There is one that I made called Blue Flame that I totaly adore. It has a blue duochrome that blossoms into beautiful shades of Aqua, turquoise, and royle blue when applied to the skin. This lip gloss may not be the most age appropriate for everyday wear, but it can really spice up any night time look.

Don’t despair, there are many ways to incorporate glitter into your everyday look. Focus on using smaller shimmer to highlight your best features, such as the brow bones, cheekbones, décolletage, and lips. A little goes a long way, so use it sparely for a subtle yet seductive glow. Stick with using larger glitter on the nails or for carft projects to avoid looking too childish. Just rememeber to take caution then working with glitter, only cosmetic grade glitter is safe to use on the face and eyes area. Cosmetic-grade glitter is FDA approved and the poly-coated pigment is safe if swallowed or upon eye contact. So read your labels and once you get familiar with working with glitter, add it to some of your favorite make up looks. You will be amazed at the fabulous results you can achieve.
